Presenters:

Jason Lewis
Jason Lewis, who is appointed by WorkCover to defend common law matters, has extensive prior legal experience having served 5-year Articles of Clerkship beginning in 1988 and being admitted as a solicitor in 1994. He practised in a wide range of different areas such as property, banking and finance and commercial litigation until 1998, when he began specialising in personal injuries law. Since then, he has acted for both plaintiffs in workers’ compensation, compulsory third party, public liability, medical negligence and Total and Permanent Disability claims (while working in senior roles in two large personal injuries practices); and defendants in workers’ compensation and compulsory third party claims (both in private practice and in various in-house roles with two major Queensland insurers).

Matthew Bannan
Matthew Bannan is an Industry Manager, Customer Experience, at WorkCover Queensland. Matthew is a registered physiotherapist having graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 1996. Matthew has worked as a physiotherapist in the public and private health sectors both in Australia and the United Kingdom. He has worked at WorkCover for nine years, initially in the role of Physiotherapy Advisor for the organisation and has subsequently managed teams through various areas of the business focusing on providing exceptional customer service and delivering successful outcomes for injured workers and employers through best practice claims and injury management principles. He is currently managing the Health and Community Care industry as part of the wider Professional Services team.
